Fly Geyser
This one came out pretty clear even with the steam. I am not sure how hot the water is but I was told someone’s dog jumped in and the owner tried to jump in and save him and died. Not very smart. I know my shoes were getting warm just standing in about an inch of water. Geysers are located by Gerlach, Nv.
The geyser was created accidentally in 1964, after a geothermal power company drilled a test well at the site. While the groundwater in the region turned out not to be sufficiently hot to be tapped for geothermal power, it did have a temperature of more than 200 degrees.
Washoe Valley Lightning Show
This is a weird one. If you look at it full size the bolt on the left appears to be made up of several bolts all following the same path.

Washoe Canary
We have a “jack” who always seems to be looking for a “jenny” in our neighborhood and while many dislike the “eee-yaw’s” I think it’s great. The burro’s call led the miners to nickname them “Washoe Canaries” for the Washoe Mining District in Western Nevada.
