Fly Geyser

This one came out pretty clear even with the steam. I am not sure how hot the water is but I was told someone’s dog jumped in and the owner tried to jump in and save him and died. Not very smart. I know my shoes were getting warm just standing in about an inch of water. Geysers are located by Gerlach, Nv.

The geyser was created accidentally in 1964, after a geothermal power company drilled a test well at the site. While the groundwater in the region turned out not to be sufficiently hot to be tapped for geothermal power, it did have a temperature of more than 200 degrees.

Stone Mother & Basket

Woman grieved for her other children. Woman was so sad that she began to cry bitterly. She missed her other children very much. She cried more and more each day.
One day she decided to sit near a mountain where she could look toward Pitt RIver country. She sat there day after day crying. Her tears fell so fast that they formed a great lake beneath her. This became “Pyramid Lake”. She sat so long that she turned to stone. There she remained to this day, sitting on the Eastern shore of Pyramid Lake, with her basket by her side.

This lake is north of Reno, Nevada.
