Whispering Vine

The Whispering Vine is one of the best, and my personal favorite local wine shops. Whether you’re looking to do a little wine tasting, or you want to buy a bottle or two of a fine wine – the Whispering Vine is the perfect place to go. The employees are very well rounded in their taste, and knowledge of wines. I feel confinement going into their wine shop and asking for help to pick out specific blends, or flavors.

If I ever need to buy anyone a present, a bottle of nice wine is always nice. I generally always trust their recommendations, and they’re great at helping you stick to a specific price range if you have one. I don’t think I’ve ever been let down when going in there, and telling them what I like and don’t like, I always leave feeling more than satisfied with my purchase. They stay open until 8 on weeknights, and I love going in after I get off work on Friday, and enjoying a couple tastes of different wines.

With a few tables scattered throughout the store, as well as a bar with stools around the counter, the Whispering Vine can be a nice place to meet friends for a drink – an alternative to any of the bars in town. They’re reasonably priced, and if wine isn’t your preference, they have a decent selection of great beers as well. But my most favorite thing that the Whispering Vine offers is their annual Ribs & Zins event, held every summer. It’s a huge Zinfandel wine tasting they host every summer. It’s catered by BJ’s BBQ, always has fun live music and entertainment, and always guarantees a good time – which is why tickets generally sell out fast. -Lauren Randolph
